“What is a food tour?”

A food tour is a culinary experience which involves food tastings from several restaurants while learning about the area’s history and culture with a local tour guide. While food is the most important aspect of a food tour, it also combines sightseeing, visiting landmarks and interesting tidbits about the neighborhood.

“How much will we be eating?”

A lot! At the end of the tour, most are pleasantly full.

"What should we bring with us?"

You'll need a valid ID if you plan to indulge in alcoholic beverages. These are walking tours, so wear comfy shoes. Also, it's Florida, so we recommend sunscreen.

“How far is Plant Street from Orlando?”

Plant Street Food Tours is about a 25 minute ride from downtown Orlando, and about 30 minutes from the attractions.

“Where should I park?”

There is a free public parking garage located at 160 S Boyd St, Winter Garden, FL 34787.

“Where do we meet for a tour?”

All tours will meet at Centennial Plaza, Plant Street's outdoor “living room” with bench swings; a renaissance, mosaic-tiled water fountain; and a gazebo featuring live entertainment. At the intersection of S. Boyd Street and W. Plant Street.

“Can I take photos?”

“How long does each tour last?”

Our tours typically last 90 minutes to 2 hours. 

“How far should I be prepared to walk?”

Our tours average about .5 miles.

“What are your rates?”

Prices vary by tour and start at $30 per person. 

“Should I tip my Guide?”

Our Experience Guides love what they do, and certainly appreciate you letting them know if you had an awesome time. The standard industry tip percentage is 20%, but tips are optional, not required.

“I have food restrictions. Is that a problem?”

Not a problem! When you purchase a ticket on our website, you will have the option after purchase to let us know about your food allergy in the comments We will make appropriate arrangements. Note: All allergy and special dietary requests must be made at least 48 hours in advance of the tour. “Do you do special events?”

“Are there restrooms available during tours?”

Yes, all of our stops have an accessible restroom.

“Are your tours wheelchair accessible?”

Yes, our tours are wheelchair accessible, and we will make every effort to ensure your comfort.

“Can I bring my pet on the tour with me?”

With the exception of properly marked service animals, we are not able to accommodate pets. As much as we love our furry friends, not all of our tour stops allow them yet. 

“Are children allowed on tours?”

Yes. Children are welcome, but please keep in mind that this is a 90 minute walking tour. Please note that we do offer alcohol tastings, and a non-alcoholic beverage will be provided for children. We offer a discounted rate of $30 for children under 12, and children 3 and under are free. Children 3 and under are welcome to share your food.

“What is your cancellation policy?”

Typically tours happen rain or shine. However, Florida weather can sometimes get so nasty (afternoon thunderstorms) that we may need to delay or reschedule. In the event of a reschedule due to weather, you will have the option to reschedule or get a full 100% refund. Otherwise, all sales are final. “Are you a fully licensed Florida tour operator?”

Absolutely! We are licensed to operate and ready to take you on tour! Because we are a home-operated business in the city of Ocoee, a neighboring town to Winter Garden, we are licensed with the City of Ocoee (Tax Receipt # 16113.1) and with Orange County (Tax Receipt # 3101-1202101).
